The wildlife that inhabit our yards and gardens need water to survive. In the parts of the country where winter brings freezing temperatures, that need can be hard to meet. Without a steady source of something as basic as water, bird will migrate to wherever they can find it. Along with bird feeders stocked with seed and suet and offering shelter with birdhouses or roosts, providing water will help keep wild birds close by and might even make your yard their favorite gathering place all year long.
